This summer residence was designed in collaboration with the owners themselves and the architectural office of Livio Vacchini and Silvia Gmur. The aim was to create a modern structure emphasizing simplicity and harmony with the area’s natural surroundings.
The rooms are arranged along a single rectangular space that gradually becomes entrance, garden, veranda, living room, atrium, bedroom, and veranda again. The house is divided lengthwise into two adjoining spaces, defined by three distinct walls: a solid rear wall retaining the ground, two intermediate pillars supporting the roof, and a front façade wall broken into four parts. Two of these are angled to better “capture” the light reflected off the sea, while also joining the two building volumes of the bedroom and living room, separated only by the courtyard with the palm trees. The surrounding grounds have been preserved in their natural state, with shrubs and the low vegetation typical of the area.
